Perry Marshall’s marketing thoughts

I just read a powerful document by Perry Marshall about “widgets but not it is not what you think it is. This is how he describes it.
When I use the term “widgets” I’m not using it as a generic term for making
‘gizmos.’ The term “widget” means the creation of a business within a business,
a category within a category, and an experience outside of the ordinary.
The document gives a lot of examples of how companies use widgets to enhance their profitability by selling for a bit more, adding a bit more value, making people buy more, come back again or even buying related goods and services from you.
It has inspired me to think out of the box as it really is an extension to the upselling / cross selling cry that a lot of marketing people shout at you. There are examples like McDonalds, Walmart, Ikea and even the local Italian restuarant. You can dowload here: Perry Marshall’s widgets.
I would advice you to read this and take some action on your own business. If you have some great results from these strategies, please share them below.
Don’t waste your money buying Arbitrage Conspiracy

I just received a great email from Jerry West one of the faculty at Stompernet and he gave his honest opinion on the Arbitrage Conspiracy product as he was there at their recent presentation in Vegas. I have reproduced it below as I think it is important to share this:
If you don’t know Jerry, he is a super affiliate and is one of the smartest marketers out there. He regularly gives great content and very cutting edge strategies in the Stomper faculty calls and try to attend every on. He walks the walk and he really knows what he is talking about, no BS. I am very excited about his upcoming FREE CPA course as I know it will be yet another great money making strategy. BTW, what he says in this email is exactly what his opinion was in the Stomper forums and faculty calls.
I was going to keep quiet about this, but with all the emails going out about “The Arbitrage Conspiracy” … and how their “cart” is opening today at 3pm, well, it is time that someone who was actually there talks honestly about the program.
I will be giving my FULL review in my FREE newsletter later this week, so make sure you are signed up. You can go to:
http://www.webmarketingnow.com/ and the sign-up box is in the upper right hand corner.
Here is the brief review:
DON’T BUY THE COURSE!!!Don’t get sucked into the hype. It isn’t real. I was there and I walked out after 40 minutes because the material was very basic. I even talked to many people (other solid CPA marketers) who stayed for the entire presentation and they said there wasn’t anything new, it was all recycled material from past systems.
If you want to really know how the CPA (Cost Per Action) market works and the DARK side of it, I will be coming out with a free course by the end of the year. No strings attached. I feel that passionate about this. This is another “launch” that over 90% of the people who sign-up will fail because it does not meet the expectations the marketing message created.
CPA is a tough business and you can lose your shirt if you don’t fully understand it.
Protect yourself. Bypass this offer and save yourself not only money, but a mountain of frustration.
So sign up for his newsletter and wait for his free course. Save your money to spend on other more worthwhile endevours. However, if you are still going to buy this, do share your reasons why – besides the obvious “I’d like to make $100k a day ” or ” I have loads of money to burn”.
If you think this can help your friends save some cash, please share it via the share this button below this post. Thanks.
