I just saw this on my Facebook wall and it is a great case study on what you should do if you want to see a product to the Internet Marketing world. This was a new product that was created by a 12 year old and he was trying to get Sohail Khan to help him with JVs. Since he posted it on Sohail’s wall, it got a lot of responses from others with more IM experience.
This was what was posted :
These were the responses critiquing the product with some great advice on how to improve. It is a\ good read as it highlights the pitfalls that product creators fall into.
Vlad Danciu I don’t want to be evil but I think there is to much hype… 11 year old kid $31,985.94 each month but no professional mic for registering some quality sound and no budget to market the product … however I will like this as he is 11 and trying to succeed ;)
I really wish Omeed every success — but sadly the site falls into the trap that many do — and that is it just looks scammy and spammy. No disrespect meant Omeed if you are reading this. It’s a very old fashioned technique to make these ama…zing claims. Now – the truth is – MANY people will buy a product as a result – as this sort of sensationalism sells. But it’s not a very cool or contemporary way to market.
Also – do NOT becone of those marketers that does not allow a visitor to PAUSE a video. This infuriates more people that will help you with sales. At the moment you can not pause your first video — therefore your second video is pointless (until the first one finishes) – and we do NOT know how long it is. HUGE MISTAKE. You will make visitors feel as if you are holding them captive.
Add a timeline to your video — NOBODY likes to watch a video that autoplays if they can not pause – and that they have no idea how long it is. Is it 45 seconds – or 45 minutes? We don’t know.
Also – screenshots of income are I’m afraid worthless. Anyone who knows photoshop can fake them — and sadly many do. You can also go to Google Images and search for ‘clickbank secreenshots’ and find thousands. People do this — and use them in their sales pages. That’s why I use live video of logging into accounts for proof of income – and you should too. If you really are making these incomes every month – screenshots do not prove that. And if you really are making these incomes every month — you shoudl be more than happy to make a video showing you logging into accounts to verify this.
Be very careful of income claims too – the FTC are famously clamping down on claims – and will come after you.
All that said – I have great respect for you Omeed for doing this – and you clearly have a brilliant marketing future ahead of you. I just don’t want to see you fall into a trap that you appear to be heading into…..
Set your own path — don’t travel down one that many before you have…
